Dorset Growth Hub
WSX Enterprise has worked in partnership to secure a 3 year business support programme funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The core services of the existing Dorset Growth Hub (funded by the DLEP through BEIS) will be at the heart of this delivery, providing the web platform, telephone advice service and initial diagnostic (this local information is supplemented with links to content on external sites such as www.gov.uk ) Additional support on offer will be provided through dedicated strands of activity including:
- pre-start and start-up support
- supporting growth
- improving digital capabilities
- accessing finance
The programme is led by WSX Enterprise and the Dorset Growth Hub with a range of support partners.
The main consortium partners are as follows:
- WSX Enterprise Ltd (Lead partner) (please visit the website here )
- The Arts Development Company (please visit the website here )
- Dormen (please visit the website here )
- Silicon South (please visit the website here)
- YTKO (incl. Outset & GetSet for Growth) (please visit the websites here: Outset and GeSet for Growth)

The Dorset Growth Hub also awards grants and vouchers when funding permits, to eligible businesses demonstrating growth potential. Whilst we have a large range on this website we cannot hold all of this information on our site. However, we have added a wealth of links to other sources of help and advice. If you have any suggestions of local information which would be useful to add to the site, please let us know using the Contact Us form. You can also use this form if you would like to be kept up to date with local business information in the future.
We are keen to advertise local training, workshops or services which can assist with starting or growing a business on our Events pages. If you would like to take advantage of this service, please contact us.
NB. The Accountable bodies for the core Growth Hub and the additional funding are Dorset County Council and Bournemouth Borough Council respectively.
WSX Enterprise’s position on Brexit
In light of the EU referendum outcome, WSX Enterprise would like to offer reassurance regarding both current and future delivery plans for the provision of business support. Whilst we are unable to predict the exact implications of Brexit, we will look to these as opportunities instead of challenges. Any current European projects/delivery and contracts currently under negotiation are protected as ring-fenced allocated funding, and will continue to be delivered until their original proposed end date. The ERDF programmes will also continue through the application process as part of the 2014-2020 schedule. With regards to the future, WSX management will continue to engage with the relevant Politicians and stakeholders, as well as clarifying what this outcome means for the businesses we work with across the South of England.
